We all have one. "Take a breath." "You can do hard things." "Tell me what you need." Sometimes it works, sometimes it's wallpaper. What's the phrase you find yourself saying over and over and be honest, is it actually landing?
Kids almost never open up on demand. But most of them have a window; in the car, at bedtime, during a walk, elbow to elbow doing dishes. When does your child actually talk to you, and what have you learned not to do during that window?
